Everland, operated by Samsung C&T's Resort Division, said Sunday that approximately 200,000 visitors attended its Rose Festival during the 10 days since its opening on May 22.
The festival runs through May 21. The bloom rate at Everland's Rose Garden currently stands at around 90%, and the park expects 3 million roses across 720 varieties to be in full bloom this week.
This year's festival is themed around "Hotel Loroti," inspired by the gardens of classic European hotels. It showcases garden content combining roses with fragrance, lighting, music, and artwork.
The Rose Garden also features content related to "Everrose," a rose variety developed in-house by Everland. At the "Rose Lab," visitors can sample the scents of four Everrose varieties. A fragrance delivery butler robot named "Rosie" makes scheduled rounds through the Rose Garden.
A popularity vote for new Everrose varieties scheduled for official release is also underway. The new variety receiving the most votes will be given a new name. Customers who participate in the vote receive "Som Point" coupons that can be used at Everland.
At night, lighting and garden illumination are added to the Rose Garden. At the center of the garden, a "Purple Rose Zone" decorated with violet roses and a photo zone featuring a chandelier approximately 3 meters in size have been set up. A jazz band performance set against the rose garden is held daily.
On June 3, "Youth Mike," a street performance event featuring young artists, will take place. Participants include contemporary circus team "ConCon," tap dance team "Raon Tap Dance Company," popping performance team "koreART," and R&B singer-songwriter Kang Ye-young.
Rose-themed food, beverages, and merchandise are also on sale. Cucina Mario, a restaurant near the Rose Garden, offers rose-shaped pizza and rose ade. Snack booths sell heart-shaped churros and roseberry ice cream.
