Ananti said Monday that the retrospective of world-renowned realist painter Alice Dalton Brown, currently held at Village de Ananti in Busan, drew approximately 3,000 visitors during its opening weekend.
The exhibition spans more than 60 years of Brown's work, from her early pieces in the 1960s to her latest 2024 work "Evanescence." Featuring the artist's signature depictions of light, landscapes and indoor-outdoor spaces, the show is attracting visitors across a wide range of age groups.
Reviews of the exhibition are also spreading online. Visitors have been sharing their impressions of the works and the atmosphere of the venue on social media, fueling continued interest in the show.
Kim Hyun-min, head of Tio Gallery, which organized the Busan retrospective following the Seoul exhibition, said, "Since the opening, interest has been hotter than expected." He added, "Watching many visitors linger in front of the works and appreciate them deeply, I am realizing that Alice Dalton Brown's artistic world is resonating broadly with audiences in Korea."
Exhibition-related merchandise is also showing signs of shortage. Some items, including frames that reinterpret the artworks in Polaroid style, have sold out, while initial stocks of the "Alice Dalton Brown Handkerchief Set of Three," co-developed by Ananti and the artist, are also dwindling rapidly.
"As word of mouth spreads, the initial inventory is running out," an Ananti official said. "We have immediately placed reorders to minimize inconvenience for visitors."
