The Korea Tourism Organization is partnering with Snow Peak Korea to conduct an on-site campaign promoting camping safety rules. The two sides will also produce joint content aimed at channeling camping demand into regional tourism.
The Korea Tourism Organization said Tuesday that it will sign a memorandum of understanding with Snow Peak Korea, a global camping brand, to foster a safe camping culture and revitalize regional tourism.
Under the agreement, the organization will run a "Safe Camping Campaign" in conjunction with Snow Peak Korea's large-scale camping programs. The campaign will be held a total of eight times, targeting approximately 7,000 participants.
On-site sessions will cover precautions for using open flames and heating equipment, as well as guidelines for preventing carbon monoxide poisoning. The aim is to enhance accident prevention by delivering safety rules directly to campers at actual campgrounds.
The organization will also organize participatory events for campers. Participants who take a "Safe Camping Pledge" and follow the Instagram account of "Go Camping," the organization's camping information platform, will receive souvenirs.
The two sides plan to provide seasonal and themed information on regional campgrounds through their official social media channels. They will also jointly produce travel content to expand camping demand, currently concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, to provincial campgrounds.
"By leveraging Snow Peak Korea's customer touchpoints, we will broaden the reach of safety education and enhance the effectiveness of the campaign," said Kwak Jae-yeon, head of the National Tourism Support Team at the Korea Tourism Organization. "Through cooperation with the private sector, we will create a camping environment where the public can enjoy themselves with peace of mind."
