The Seoul Shilla Hotel's French fine dining restaurant Continental will host a four-hands dinner with Hommage, a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Tokyo, Japan.
Hotel Shilla announced Tuesday that the "Continental X Hommage Four-Hands Dinner" will be held at Continental inside the Seoul Shilla Hotel on June 23 and 24. For the event, Continental's Chef Kim Sung-hyun will join Chef Noboru Arai, who oversees Hommage's food and beverage program, to present a course that delicately expresses the flavor and seasonality of Korean ingredients.
Hommage, which will collaborate with Continental, is a restaurant in Tokyo that has built its reputation on contemporary French cuisine. Since opening in 2000, it earned one Michelin star in 2012 when the "Michelin Guide Tokyo" was first published, and has maintained two stars from 2018 to the present. Chef Noboru studied cooking in France and is known for creating original dishes that blend Japanese ingredients and sensibilities with the authentic techniques of French cuisine.
The four-hands dinner will be based on Continental's authentic seven-course French menu, beginning with an amuse-bouche and continuing with appetizers, fish, meat and dessert. Diners will be able to experience top-tier seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the Seoul Shilla Hotel, reinterpreted through Japan's distinctive refined sensibility.
Continental sources premium ingredients from home and abroad to present dishes rooted in authentic French cuisine while incorporating modern and Korean flavors. The restaurant has been credited with leading Korea's culinary culture through exchanges with renowned global chefs including Eric Frechon, Christian Le Squer, Maxime Meilleur and Jacques Marcon.
