Samsung Bioepis will participate in the European Renal Association Annual Congress (ERA 2026) next month to promote its in-house developed rare disease treatment.
According to industry sources Thursday, Samsung Bioepis will set up a booth at the ERA 2026 venue in Glasgow, Scotland, from June 3 to 6, introducing the company to nephrology experts and pharmaceutical and biotech industry officials.
ERA is one of the most prestigious and largest academic societies in the global nephrology field. Founded in 1963, the association has a history spanning more than 60 years and boasts approximately 28,000 members worldwide. This year, around 3,100 research abstracts were submitted from 95 countries. From the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, about 100 companies, including Big Pharma firms such as Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca, will host booth exhibitions.
Samsung Bioepis has been selling 'Epysqli,' a biosimilar prescribed in Europe for the treatment of rare kidney disorders such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, since 2023. Epysqli is a biosimilar of 'Soliris,' a blockbuster drug developed by U.S.-based Alexion. The company also operated on-site booths at conferences held in Stockholm, Sweden, and Austria in 2024 and 2025 to introduce the company and its biosimilars.
