Everland said Wednesday that more than 300,000 visitors have flocked to its Safari World over the roughly 50 days since the attraction reopened on the first of last month.
Ahead of the reopening, Everland renovated the habitats of predators such as lions, tigers and brown bears by adding waterfalls, ponds and trees to more closely resemble their natural environments. The theme park also replaced its viewing vehicles with 40-seat electric buses, reducing noise and vibration compared with the previous fleet.
The "River Trail Adventure," an experiential program that takes visitors along a waterway between Safari World and Lost Valley, has also been revamped. The program allows guests to observe nine species of wild animals up close, including lions, hyenas, giraffes and elephants.
Customer satisfaction has been strong since the reopening. In a recent survey conducted by Everland, Safari World scored 96 points in customer satisfaction, the highest among all facilities at the park. Online buzz has also grown. Online mentions related to Safari World rose about 30 percent from the same period a year earlier. Cumulative views of related content posted on Everland's official social media channels have surpassed 15 million.
"We will continue to expand content that combines animal welfare, ecological education and customer experience," an Everland official said.
