Everland will host a month-long Rose Festival starting May 22, showcasing 3 million roses across 720 varieties. This year, the theme park is creating a rose garden that can be enjoyed both day and night, featuring large chandeliers, nighttime lighting, and a fragrance experience zone.
Everland, operated by Samsung C&T's resort division, announced on Sunday that it will hold the Rose Festival from May 22 through June 21. During the festival, 3 million roses across 720 varieties will be displayed throughout the rose garden area.
This year's festival is themed around "Hotel Loroti." Building on the "Loroti" theme that debuted last year, the expanded concept evokes the atmosphere of staying in a European hotel garden. A gate resembling a hotel check-in has been installed at the entrance to the rose garden, while the center features a newly created "Purple Rose Zone" filled with violet roses and a garden party-style photo zone.
Visitors can continue exploring the rose garden after sunset. They can enjoy the approximately 3-meter-tall chandelier installed at the center of the garden alongside lighting that illuminates the rose displays. At the Rose Castle, visitors can tour a "Hotel Loroti" themed space featuring a drawing facade by artist Daria Song along with vintage carriers and luggage carts.
A rose fragrance experience space will also be available. Everland has set up a "Rose Lab" experience zone using "EverRose," its proprietary garden rose variety. Visitors can take home scents of four EverRose varieties, including Tete de Belle and Lemon Bubble, on fragrance papers featuring artwork by Daria Song. A delivery robot named "Rosie" will also travel around the rose garden delivering EverRose fragrances.
During the festival, a four-piece jazz band will perform daily in the outdoor garden in front of the Rose Castle. On June 3, the rose garden will host "Cheongchun Mic," a young artist performance program organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and managed by the Regional Culture and Arts Promotion Agency.
