Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), a state-run enterprise that operates Seven Luck Casino, is expanding medical tourism-linked content for its foreign-only casino customers. The strategy aims to extend visitors' stays and boost tourism spending.
GKL said Thursday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Medical Tourism Association to promote K-medical tourism. The signing ceremony was held the previous day at the association's main conference room in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The agreement was pursued to generate new tourism demand by linking medical, cultural and tourism experience content for foreign visitors to Seven Luck Casino. The move signals an expansion of the casino visit from a shopping- and lodging-centered experience to include medical and wellness offerings.
The two organizations plan to jointly develop medical, cultural and tourism-linked products for foreign visitors, and to carry out related marketing and promotions together. They will also pursue information exchange and network cooperation to invigorate tourism.
Starting in June, the Korea Medical Tourism Association will conduct "K-Wellness & Hospitality" training for GKL customer service staff. The program is designed to enhance understanding of medical tourism products for foreign visitors and strengthen on-site service capabilities.
GKL also plans to operate a "K-Medical Tourism Theme Hall" so that Seven Luck Casino visitors can directly experience K-medical tourism content.
"We expect to boost customer satisfaction and contribute to invigorating medical tourism by providing differentiated content to foreign visitors of Seven Luck," GKL President Yoon Doo-hyeon said. "We will continue to work on expanding tourism spending and improving regional tourism infrastructure through public-private cooperation."
