NOL Universe has recruited Oliver Libutzki, an early founding member of Agoda, and is accelerating the expansion of its overseas business. The strategy is to strengthen the platform's global competitiveness by integrating overseas lodging, flights, packages, and tours and activities.
NOL Universe announced Wednesday that it has appointed Libutzki as head of its global business. Libutzki will oversee overseas lodging, packages, tours and activities (T&A), and flight operations. He will take on the role of enhancing product competitiveness and improving operational efficiency by linking previously fragmented travel products.
Libutzki will also lead the company's inbound business targeting foreign tourists visiting Korea. With demand for Korean travel rising on the back of the spread of K-content, NOL Universe plans to expand its overseas business network and strengthen travel products for foreign visitors.
Libutzki has more than 20 years of experience in the global online travel industry. He joined Agoda as an early founding member, where he oversaw business development in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and India. During his time at Agoda, he led the expansion of the supply network, securing an inventory of more than 150,000 directly contracted accommodations in the Asia-Pacific region.
He subsequently took charge of global business expansion at German travel platform Tourlane and Canadian travel platform Hopper. At Tourlane, he drove the digital and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation of product supply and booking processes, and at Hopper, he led product supply for the Asia-Pacific region.
"I am pleased to join NOL Universe, which is expanding its influence beyond Korea into the global market," Libutzki said. "I will strengthen the global business to deliver differentiated travel experiences to customers around the world."
