South Korea will see mostly clear skies on Sunday, though inland areas will experience wide temperature swings between day and night, requiring attention to health management.
"Tomorrow (the 10th) will be influenced by a high-pressure system moving from near Shanghai, China, to the South Sea," the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said Saturday. Temperatures will be similar to or slightly higher than the seasonal average of 9-14 degrees Celsius for lows and 19-24 degrees for highs. Morning lows are expected to range from 6 to 14 degrees, with daytime highs of 20 to 27 degrees.
Expected morning lows in major cities are 10 degrees in Seoul, 10 in Incheon, 8 in Chuncheon, 13 in Gangneung, 9 in Daejeon, 10 in Daegu, 9 in Jeonju, 8 in Gwangju, 12 in Busan and 11 in Jeju.
Daytime highs are forecast at 25 degrees in Seoul, 23 in Incheon, 25 in Chuncheon, 26 in Gangneung, 26 in Daejeon, 26 in Daegu, 26 in Jeonju, 25 in Gwangju, 22 in Busan and 21 in Jeju.
The atmosphere will be very dry. In particular, parts of Seoul (northeastern and southwestern districts) and Gyeonggi Province, the east coast of Gangwon, Chungbuk and the Gyeongbuk region, where dry weather advisories are in effect, will experience extremely dry conditions, requiring extra caution to prevent fires.
From dawn through the morning, fog reducing visibility to less than 1 kilometer is expected in some areas, mainly in Jeonnam. Fog may be denser on roads near rivers, lakes and valleys, so drivers should take care for traffic safety.
Fine dust concentrations will register at "good" levels across all regions.
