The Korean Hospital Association (KHA) said Tuesday it has opened an "Essential Medical Products Support Center" to provide ongoing response to supply disruptions caused by the U.S.-Iran war.
Starting the same day, the association launched an Essential Medical Products Support Center menu on its training center website to receive complaints on supply delays, inventory shortages, and distribution imbalances for essential items such as syringes and needles. The managed items include IV fluid bags, IV fluid containers, hemodialysis containers, syringes, needles, injection solutions, surgical gowns and drapes, dedicated medical waste containers, and sterile packaging materials. Complaints can also be submitted through the "Supply Difficulty Report" banner on the KHA website.
The KHA plans to use the submitted information as baseline data for continuous monitoring of supply conditions and to propose institutional improvements and support measures to relevant government agencies based on this data.
"Stable supply of essential medical products is a matter directly linked to public lives," a KHA official said. "We will work closely with the government to establish a stable supply environment."
