Kangbuk Samsung Hospital said Friday that it held a three-day spring festival called "Spring Week" for its employees from the 22nd to the 24th and donated the entire proceeds to Intree, a single mothers' organization based in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Spring Week featured an "Employee Sharing Market" composed of items voluntarily donated by staff, along with a "Flea Market" run jointly with local small business owners. At the Employee Sharing Market, about 400 items donated by employees — including home appliances, baby products and miscellaneous goods — were traded. The Flea Market drew strong interest as local merchants sold accessories, small goods and desserts. The "Warmth Auction," a charity auction featuring personal items contributed by hospital executives, generated particularly enthusiastic participation from employees. The winning bids, along with the total proceeds from the event, were delivered to Intree.
"This event was a precious time for all members of the hospital to come together with one heart and share warmth," Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Director Shin Hyun-chul said. "We will continue to fulfill our responsibility as a trusted medical institution through various social contribution activities that allow us to grow together with the local community."
