Kyobo Book Centre and the Daesan Foundation announced Wednesday that they will host the "2026 Young Writers Forum" on May 15-16 at Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul. Held biennially since 2022, the Young Writers Forum reaches its third edition this year as a literary festival where young writers discuss society and literature while engaging closely with readers.
The theme of this year's forum is "Summer." The event will feature diverse conversations centered on summer-related keywords: "love," "fear," "climate," and "vacation." Twenty young writers active in the literary scene will participate, including poets Ko Sun-kyung, Seo Yoon-hoo, Song Hee-ji, Ahn Hee-yeon, Yoo Seon-hye and Yoon Eun-seong, along with novelists Kim Mel-la, Kim Ji-yeon, Seo Jang-won, Seong Hye-ryeong, Im Seon-woo, Jeong Ki-hyeon and Jeong Dae-gun.
During the two-day "Writer Talks" at the Live Hall of Community House Masil on May 15-16, four literary sessions will be held under the themes of "love," "fear," "climate," and "vacation." A "Writer's Café" will be set up in the salon at the venue. Novelist Kim Mel-la will share stories about "summer" on May 15, followed by novelist Jeong Dae-gun on May 16, with critics Ha Hyeok-jin and Sunwoo Eun-sil serving as moderators respectively. The "Writer's Space" exhibition will also be on display at the venue during the forum. Photographs of participating writers' creative spaces and the objects that accompany their writing will be exhibited, offering an indirect glimpse into the writers' creative worlds.
Alongside the forum, an essay collection titled "Summer," featuring essays by the participating writers, will be published. The book will contain writings on the themes of "love," "fear," "climate," and "vacation," along with photographs of creative spaces, and will be provided to event attendees. It will not be sold separately.
Participation can be registered in advance through Naver Reservation, while the "Writer's Space" exhibition can be viewed without a separate reservation.
