Flutist Han Ji-hee, wife of Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin, will take the stage at Lotte Concert Hall on the 29th for a joint performance with conductor Kim Sun-wook and world-renowned pianist Lang Lang.
According to SM Classics on the 20th, Han will hold a concert at Lotte Concert Hall on the 29th to celebrate the release of her debut album. On the 24th, Han released "Carl Reinecke: Works for Flute" through Universal Music, a collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko.
At the upcoming concert, she will perform with SMTOWN Orchestra, a project orchestra of SM Classics, under the baton of Kim Sun-wook, former principal conductor of the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra. The repertoire centers on Reinecke's flute concertos featured on the album.
The program also includes a collaborative stage with Lang Lang. On her album, Han recorded "Undine" for flute and piano alongside Lang Lang. Han previously said, "Recording with Lang Lang felt like a dream come true." Lang Lang remarked, "Reinecke was also an excellent pianist. In 'Undine,' the piano sometimes plays an even more important role than the flute. Han Ji-hee and I sought to interpret the piece from a female perspective, shaping the phrasing in a more feminine manner at times to convey shy and delicate emotions."
Han is an artist under SM Classics, the classical and jazz label of SM Entertainment. She studied at the preparatory school of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Austria and at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in the United States, and earned her doctorate from the Seoul National University Graduate School. She is currently active as a member of the chamber ensemble "PACE" and as a soloist.
