CORTIS is setting overwhelming records on global metrics ahead of its new album release.
According to agency BigHit Music, CORTIS's (Martin, James, Juhoon, Sunghyun, Gunho) second mini album "GREENGREEN" recorded 707,000 pre-saves on global audio and music streaming platform Spotify as of the 15th. The figure surpassed 700,000 in approximately six weeks since the release schedule was announced on March 6. Even into the sixth week, this number continues to grow steadily by around 10,000 daily.
Pre-save is a Spotify feature that allows users to sign up for notifications before a new release. It reflects global listeners' interest in an artist and their upcoming album or track. Based on this metric, CORTIS ranked No. 3 on the Countdown Charts Global (as of April 8). The achievement is particularly meaningful as it places the group right behind global pop star Olivia Rodrigo and popular American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan. After entering at No. 8 (March 11), the group has steadily maintained top positions, rising to No. 5 (March 25) and No. 2 (April 1).
Demand for physical albums is also strong. According to album distributors YG Plus and Universal Records, pre-orders for the second mini album reached 2,020,224 copies as of April 13. With the first mini album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" having recorded 2,060,963 copies sold (as of Circle Chart's April 4 tally)—the highest sales for a K-pop debut album ever—attention is focused on whether the new album will achieve a second consecutive "double million seller" status.
Meanwhile, ahead of the second mini album release, title track "REDRED" will be unveiled first on the 20th. CORTIS will hold an offline "release party" on the same day, debuting the first performance alongside the release of the audio track and music video. The group is also scheduled to appear on music shows afterward. On May 4, the album release date, a larger-scale second offline "release party" will be held. Expectations are high as the group plans to showcase rich content including music videos for B-side tracks "TNT" and "ACAI."
