BTS launches "ARIRANG," the largest world tour in K-pop history, at Goyang Stadium today.
According to their agency Big Hit Music, BTS will meet their fans, known as "ARMY," across 85 shows in 34 cities including Japan, the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Peru, Chile and Thailand, starting with performances at Goyang Stadium on January 9, 11 and 12.
The tour is expected to draw the largest audience in K-pop tour concert history, as all venues are stadiums or large dome arenas featuring a 360-degree open stage design.
A total of 46 shows have already sold out, including performances in Goyang, Tokyo and the North American and European legs.
"BTS has sold approximately 2.4 million tickets for the 41 North American and European shows alone," concert promoter Live Nation said.
BTS is expected to perform new songs from their fifth album "ARIRANG," which topped the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, along with their previous hits.
"Please dress warmly when you come to the concert," member Jimin told fans through the fan platform Weverse. "We will prepare hard."
