
Heavy rain is expected across the southern coast and Jeju Island on Thursday, with spring showers spreading nationwide.
Rain will begin in the Jeonnam region and Jeju Island from early morning. The precipitation will expand across the country by mid-morning. The Jeonnam coast, southern coast of Gyeongnam, the area around Jirisan Mountain, and Jeju Island will see intense rainfall of 20-30mm per hour.
Forecast rainfall totals over the two days through Friday are: Jeju Island 50-100mm (over 250mm in mountainous areas), northern Jeju 30-100mm, and Gwangju-Jeonnam 50-100mm (over 120mm in the western Gyeongnam southern coast and around Jirisan).
Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, Ulsan, and inland Gyeongnam (excluding the Jirisan area) will receive 30-80mm. Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon and mountainous areas, the northern Gangwon east coast, North Chungcheong, Daegu, North Gyeongsang, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will see 20-60mm. The West Sea Five Islands and the central and southern Gangwon east coast will receive 10-40mm.
Morning lows are forecast at 3-12°C, with daytime highs of 11-18°C. Temperatures will feel chilly throughout the day due to the rain.
Fine dust levels will remain in the "good" range nationwide, helped by the rainfall.
Waves in coastal waters will reach 0.5-3.5m in the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5-3.0m in the West Sea. Offshore wave heights (within approximately 200km of the coastline) are expected at 0.5-3.5m in the East Sea, 1.0-3.5m in the West Sea, and 1.0-4.0m in the South Sea.
