
Han Kang's novel "We Do Not Part" surged back to No. 7 on the weekly bestseller chart after the author received the National Book Critics Circle Award on March 27, according to data released by Yes24, South Korea's largest online bookstore.
Sales of the novel jumped 284% in the five days following the award announcement compared to the preceding five-day period. Buyers in their 50s accounted for the largest share of purchases at 35%.
In the overall bestseller rankings for the first week of April released by Yes24, "Project Hail Mary," the original novel behind the hit film adaptation, claimed the No. 1 spot. "Life Goes On with Love," an oral autobiography of Kang Soon-hee as recorded by author Yu Si-min, ranked second, followed by "Minimal Thinking for Life" by Shin Young-jun and Ko Young-sung in third place.
"The Man Who Lives with the King: Screenplay Collection," based on the film that surpassed 15 million viewers, took fourth place, while "Goethe Said It All," the 2025 Akutagawa Prize winner, ranked fifth.
