
Friday, May 3 will see partly cloudy skies nationwide, with clouds gradually thickening from the afternoon.
Rain is expected on Jeju Island from the late afternoon, and in southern Gyeonggi Province, the Chungcheong region, and southern provinces from the evening onward in some areas.
Jeju Island in particular may see heavy rain advisories issued, with rainfall exceeding 30mm per hour starting late at night in its mid-mountain and mountainous areas.
Very strong winds are forecast for Jeju Island from the evening, with gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas. Residents are advised to secure outdoor structures and take safety precautions.
Cumulative rainfall through Saturday, May 4 is projected at 30–80mm for Jeju Island (over 150mm in mountainous areas and over 120mm in mid-mountain zones), 20–60mm for Gwangju and South Jeolla Province as well as Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang Province, and 10–40mm for southern Gyeonggi Province.
Dense fog with visibility below 200 meters is expected through the morning, primarily along the western coasts of Incheon and Gyeonggi, South Chungcheong, and North Jeolla provinces.
Other areas may also see fog reducing visibility to below one kilometer. Sea fog is expected over the Yellow Sea.
Daytime temperatures in inland areas nationwide are forecast to rise to around 20°C. Morning lows are expected at 3–10°C, with afternoon highs of 17–23°C.
Fine dust concentrations are forecast at "poor" levels in the Seoul metropolitan area, western Gangwon Province, the Chungcheong region, the Honam region, and Jeju, with "moderate" levels elsewhere.
However, the Seoul metropolitan area may see "very poor" levels in the morning, while the Yeongnam region is expected to reach "poor" levels in the afternoon.
Coastal wave heights are forecast at 0.5–2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5–1.0 meters in the Yellow Sea, and 0.5–1.5 meters in the South Sea.
Offshore wave heights (within approximately 200km of the coastline) are expected at 0.5–2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5–3.0 meters in the Yellow Sea, and 0.5–2.5 meters in the South Sea.
