This is a prequel webtoon depicting the past of "Monster Detective" Ma Seok-do, the protagonist of Korea's iconic action film series "Crime City." Going back in time from the films, it follows the spirited rookie days of Ma Seok-do, who has only recently put on his police uniform. In an era when audacity outweighed experience, Ma goes undercover as a gangster himself to take down the Royal Pa, a criminal organization seeking to seize control of downtown Seoul. His growth story unfolds as he transforms into the monster detective through a covert operation. The webtoon drew attention from the production stage as it was co-developed by actor Ma Dong-seok, the star and creator of the "Crime City" film series, and Park Tae-jun, the author of "Lookism."
