Ubipa, a drone swarm flight technology startup, said Tuesday it successfully completed large-scale drone shows over Seoul and New York to celebrate the comeback of K-pop group BTS.
The drone shows were organized to mark the release of BTS's new album "ARIRANG." On June 18, 500 drones performed a swarm flight over Brooklyn Bridge in New York for 15 minutes, forming the album logo, the BTS group logo, and the number 7 symbolizing the group's seven members.
On June 20, 2,000 drones flew over Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul, synchronized to BTS's new song, depicting the faces of all seven BTS members and the South Korean national flag.
Ubipa's proprietary aircraft "IFO" was used for the project. Ubipa operates an integrated swarm drone solution that encompasses both the aircraft hardware and in-house drone show design software, enabling precise and error-free control of large-scale flights.
"Based on the precise and safe control technology demonstrated in these large-scale flights, we will build a technology ecosystem spanning not only the entertainment sector but also next-generation defense drones," Ubipa CEO Lim Hyun said.
