Han Kang, the Nobel Prize-winning author, has won the National Book Critics Circle Award (NBCC), one of the most prestigious literary prizes in the United States, for the English translation of her novel "We Do Not Part."
The NBCC selected the English edition of Han's "We Do Not Part," translated by E. Yaewon and Paige Morris, as the winner in the fiction category at its 2025 ceremony held in New York on Monday.
This marks the second time a work by a Korean author has received the NBCC Award, following poet Kim Hyesoon's poetry collection "Phantom Pain Wings," translated by Don Mee Choi and published in 2023.
