The Korean Newspaper Association, the Korean Newspaper and Broadcasting Editors' Association, and the Journalists Association of Korea announced Wednesday that "Beyond Algorithms, Reading the Real World" by Lee Su-bin of Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, was selected as the grand prize winner of the 70th Newspaper Day Slogan Contest.
Two entries won the Excellence Award: "Eyes That Filter Fakes, A Window That Holds Truth" by Kim Min-jun of Incheon, and "Writing Trust, Brightening Tomorrow" by Tae Ji-hoon of Wanju, North Jeolla Province.
In the Newspaper Promotional Character Contest, now in its third year, "Press and Focus" by Kim Hye-jung of Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, won the grand prize. The Excellence Award went to "Pyeolchimi" by Choi Woo-young of Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and "Chamsori" by Jeong Woo-jun of Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 7 at the Korea Press Center.
