The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism, headed by Venerable Ilhwa, announced Thursday that it will operate the "Double Happiness Temple Stay" program from May 1 through 31, marking May as the "Month of Buddhism, Month of Inner Peace."
The "Double Happiness Temple Stay" is a discount event for temple stay participation fees, organized in conjunction with the "2026 Travel Month Campaign" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and managed by the Korea Tourism Organization. Approximately 120 temples nationwide will offer discounts to a total of around 10,000 participants.
Overnight temple stay programs are available to both Korean and foreign participants for 30,000 won, while day programs are available to foreign visitors only at 15,000 won.
Reservations open at 10 a.m. on May 7 through the Temple Stay website. Discounts are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may end early, so participants are advised to book in advance according to their travel plans. Detailed schedules and related information are available on the Temple Stay reservation website.
"I hope that temple stay in temples filled with peaceful energy like the spring breeze will be a time for people to focus on the life they truly desire," Venerable Ilhwa said.
