The Digital Council under the Korea Newspaper Association reelected Shin Han-soo, deputy director of the strategic planning office at Seoul Economic Daily, as its chairman at its 2026 annual general meeting held at the Korea Press Center on June 19. His term runs through the next annual general meeting in 2028.
The general meeting also appointed a new slate of vice chairpersons and an auditor. Seven vice chairpersons were elected, including Kang In-seok, director and head of the digital media division at Jeonbuk Ilbo. Lee Hae-sung, chief technology officer at Naeil Shinmun, was named auditor.
The Digital Council is an organization comprising digital division heads from media companies affiliated with the Korea Newspaper Association. Launched in May 2023, it works to improve digital news production and distribution systems and address copyright protection issues. It currently counts 32 major newspapers and wire services nationwide as members.
