Legendary hard rock band Deep Purple will return to Korea after 16 years.
Concert promoter We Are Live announced on the 13th that Deep Purple will perform at Paradise City Culture Park in Yeongjong Island, Incheon, at 7 p.m. on April 18.
Formed in London in 1968, Deep Purple has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, including hit records "Deep Purple in Rock" and "Machine Head." The band produced iconic songs such as "Smoke on the Water," "Highway Star," and "Soldier of Fortune."
Deep Purple was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors in popular music. Despite frequent lineup changes over more than 50 years, the current band features peak-era members including Ian Gillan (vocals) and Roger Glover (bass), with founding member Ian Paice (drums) still holding his position.
"Deep Purple, which has left an unparalleled musical legacy across generations, will once again imprint its timeless mastery and overwhelming sound on Korean fans at this concert," the organizer said.
