Park Jin-oh, professor of orthopedic surgery, was inaugurated as the new president of Yonsei University Yongin Severance Hospital on Wednesday. His term runs from this month through February 2028.
Park graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine in 1989 and completed his master's and doctoral degrees at the same institution. Before the hospital's relocation to its new facility, he served as director of medical affairs and as the eighth hospital president. Following the opening of the new building, he held positions including chief of orthopedic surgery, vice president of medical affairs, and chair of the external cooperation committee, contributing to the hospital's stable growth.
An inauguration ceremony held Wednesday morning in the fourth-floor auditorium marked both Park's installation as third president and the departure of his predecessor, Kim Eun-kyung, the second president.
"Since Yongin Severance Hospital began in Cheoin-gu, Yongin in 1983 until its relocation and reopening in March 2020, countless staff members have dedicated their efforts," Park said in his inaugural address. "Honoring that precious dedication, I will do my utmost to establish this hospital as the leading medical institution in southern Gyeonggi Province, based on internal harmony and coexistence with the local community."
