Hanmi Group unveiled a bronze monument commemorating the drug development philosophy and achievements of its late founder and former Chairman Lim Sung-ki.
The company announced on the 4th that it held an unveiling ceremony for the bronze monument at "Hanmi C&C Square" near Hanmi Pharmaceutical (128940) headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 2nd. The monument was first revealed following the 5th Lim Sung-ki Researcher Award ceremony hosted by the Lim Sung-ki Foundation.
The founder's family attended the ceremony, including Hanmi Group Chairwoman Song Young-sook, Vice Chairwoman Lim Ju-hyun, and President Lim Jong-hoon. Group officials including former Hanmi Pharmaceutical Vice Chairman Lee Kwan-soon, Hanmi Pharmaceutical CEO Park Jae-hyun, and key executives were also present.
The monument features an image of the late Chairman Lim along with his handwritten phrase "Innovative Management for a Pharmaceutical Powerhouse." The work comprises four sectors—Genesis, Beginning of Innovation, R&D Management, and Paradigm Shift—tracing the founder's pharmaceutical management journey.
The bronze panel chronicles major business milestones in chronological order, from the 1973 founding of Hanmi Pharmaceutical and launch of its first product "T.S Powder," to the completion of the Paltan GMP plant, construction of the Dongtan R&D Center, and global technology licensing deals. The late chairman's conviction that "Drug development is my life" is also inscribed on the monument.
The late Chairman Lim is credited with pioneering the era of technology exports for Korean pharmaceutical companies through R&D-focused management. He established Hanmi Pharmaceutical's growth foundation by developing diverse product lines including prescription drugs such as dyslipidemia combination treatment "Rosuzet," "Amodipin," and "Amozaltan," as well as children's fever reducer "Suspene" and probiotic digestive medicine "Medilac."
Chairwoman Song said, "The Lim Sung-ki spirit is the most precious value that Hanmi Group must preserve forever. I hope many employees will reflect on the founder's vision when they see this bronze monument."
