
Yoon Eul-sik, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and President of Korea University Medical Center, was elected as the new chairman of the Korean Association of Private University Medical Centers at its recent general assembly.
The Korean Association of Private University Medical Centers is a consultative body established to promote the development and mutual cooperation of private university medical centers in Korea. The organization engages in policy proposals, joint responses to common issues, and academic and management exchanges.
The newly elected Chairman Yoon is recognized as one of Korea's leading experts in breast reconstruction, lymphedema, and liposuction surgery. He has contributed to academic advancement and improved clinical standards through his service as chairman of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and president of the Korean Academic Society of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery. As chairman of the Korean Association of Medical Colleges Training Hospitals, he also worked to improve training environments for medical residents and advance the training hospital system.
Yoon has earned recognition for his leadership both within and outside the medical community for strengthening public healthcare roles at medical institutions, establishing sustainable management systems, and laying the groundwork for innovation in future medicine. At Korea University, he has held various positions including Chairman of Education and Training at Korea University Ansan Hospital, Deputy Director of Medical Planning at the Medical Center, and Vice President for Clinical Affairs and President of Anam Hospital, where he led efforts to strengthen hospital management and clinical competitiveness.
He currently serves as the 17th Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and President of Korea University Medical Center, as well as chairman of the Korean Private University Hospitals Association, leading the development of private university hospitals and healthcare management innovation in Korea.
"We will respond wisely to changes in the healthcare environment and hospital management conditions, strengthen cooperation to improve healthcare quality and expand public roles, and enhance our capacity to lead future medicine," Chairman Yoon said.
