The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced it will accept applications from February 19 to March 12 for organizations to participate in the "2026 Community-Based Culture and Arts Education Support Project," in partnership with the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service.
The "Community-Based Culture and Arts Education" initiative aims to mitigate social challenges stemming from demographic shifts, including low birth rates, population decline, and the rise in single-person households, while expanding cultural access in everyday settings. This year, the program will broaden its scope to include social and emotional communities, offering tailored programs for diverse groups such as parents of infants and toddlers and residents of culturally underserved areas.
The application process is divided into two categories based on target demographics. The family-oriented arts education program "Gagahoho" will be operated by 40 local cultural foundations in partnership with community facilities including cultural infrastructure, family centers, and shared childcare spaces. Programs for parents of young children will be expanded to include customized arts education designed to alleviate parenting stress and support emotional recovery.
The "Chonchonrakrak" program for residents of culturally underserved areas will be operated by 10 private cultural and arts organizations at "Living SOC Complex Centers" built through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' rural development projects. The initiative seeks to expand cultural access for rural residents and bridge regional cultural gaps through quality arts education reflecting local conditions and living environments.
Applications can be submitted online through the e-Naradoum system. An online briefing session for prospective applicants will be held at 2 p.m. on February 26.
