Yonsei University Health System announced on the 11th that Jang Won-young of K-pop group IVE donated 200 million won ($143,000) to Severance Hospital to support treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients.
Jang, known for her "Lucky Vicky" positive mindset and popular among young fans, decided to make the donation to help children her age with their treatment, recovery, and growth, according to the hospital.
The donation will be split equally between Severance Children's Hospital and Gangnam Severance Hospital's pediatric department, with 100 million won allocated to each facility. The funds will be used for treatment support and improving clinical care environments.
"We are deeply grateful for this meaningful act of sharing for our pediatric and adolescent patients," said Lee Sang-gil, Director of External Affairs at Yonsei University Health System. "We will ensure the donation is used carefully to provide practical help for the treatment and recovery of young patients."
