Tuesday will bring milder weather nationwide as the cold snap subsides, with snow or rain expected in various regions starting in the morning.
Morning low temperatures are forecast at -7 to 3 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 3 to 9 degrees Celsius. This is similar to or slightly above seasonal averages (morning lows of -10 to 0 degrees, daytime highs of 3 to 9 degrees).
Snow or rain will begin falling in parts of the country from the morning. The precipitation is expected to spread to most regions nationwide from the afternoon, except for Gangwon's east coast.
Expected snowfall accumulations are: Jeju Island's mountainous areas 2-7 cm (exceeding 10 cm in some locations); northern Gangwon inland and mountainous areas and eastern Jeonbuk 1-5 cm; northern and southeastern Gyeonggi, central and southern Gangwon inland and mountainous areas, Chungbuk, and western Gyeongnam inland 1-3 cm; Daejeon, Sejong, inland Chungnam, northern and southwestern Gyeongbuk inland, and northeastern Gyeongbuk mountainous areas around 1 cm; and Seoul less than 1 cm.
Expected rainfall amounts are: Jeju Island 5-15 mm; Jeolla region 5-10 mm; Chungcheong region and Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam around 5 mm; and the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon inland and mountainous areas, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk less than 5 mm.
Fine dust concentrations will reach "bad" levels in Seoul and northern Gyeonggi, while other regions will maintain "moderate" levels and Jeju Island will see "good" air quality.
Wave heights are expected at 0.5-1.5 meters in the East Sea and West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5-1.0 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.
