The National Cancer Center announced on the 9th that Stray Kids member I.N donated 100 million won ($72,000) to support medical expenses for underprivileged cancer patients and pediatric cancer patients on the occasion of his birthday.
The donation will be used to cover treatment costs for underprivileged patients receiving care at the National Cancer Center and to fund psychological therapy support for pediatric cancer patients.
"I wanted to share the love I've received from fans," I.N said. "I hope this can bring a little warmth to those enduring the long treatment process."
He added: "Though it's a small contribution, I hope it reaches them as hope and courage, and I sincerely wish for their speedy recovery."
Yang Han-kwang, Director of the National Cancer Center, said: "I.N's warm generosity will provide great comfort and strength to patients and families exhausted from treatment. We will use the donation responsibly to ensure it provides practical help for patient treatment and psychological support."
The National Cancer Center plans to use this donation as an opportunity to further expand public-private partnerships and sponsorship connections aimed at improving treatment and quality of life for cancer patients as a public medical institution.
