Osaka, Japan emerged as the most visited city by T'way Air (091810.KQ) passengers this year, while Da Nang, Vietnam proved most popular among family travelers.
T'way Air released its "2025 Travel Report" on Thursday, based on customer travel data for the year. Korean passengers primarily visited Osaka, Rome in Italy, Da Nang, and Taipei in Taiwan.
Among newly launched routes this year, Busan-Fukuoka, Incheon-Vancouver, and Busan-Sapporo ranked highest in passenger numbers. Growing interest in long-haul routes following the expansion of air routes from Busan translated into actual bookings.
Travel preferences varied by age group. Passengers in their 20s and 30s favored major Japanese cities including Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo. Those in their 40s and 50s preferred Osaka, Da Nang, and Fukuoka in that order, showing a trend of combining urban travel with resort stays. Travelers in their 60s and 70s primarily visited Da Nang, Osaka, and Tokyo, demonstrating a clear preference for resort destinations.
Passengers favored Friday departures. Family travel, measured by the proportion of passengers traveling with infants and children, was highest on the Incheon-Da Nang and Daegu-Osaka routes. Premium Zone, Front Zone, and Standard Zone seats saw high selection rates, reflecting demand for more comfortable travel during transit.
Bulgogi rice bowl was the most popular paid in-flight meal, followed by healthy bibimbap and chicken teriyaki fried rice. Routes with the highest paid meal sales were Incheon-Singapore, Incheon-Da Nang, and Incheon-Kalibo, showing active meal purchases on routes to resort destinations.
Travel with pets also expanded. The airline's "T-Pet" pet transport service recorded approximately 26,000 uses this year. The Gimpo-Jeju route saw the most active use, while international routes including Incheon-Shenyang and Incheon-Da Nang also saw increased pet travel.
"We deeply appreciate the interest and support our customers have shown T'way Air throughout the year," a T'way Air official said. "We will do our best to provide more convenient and satisfying travel experiences next year."
