Suwon Museum announced Thursday it is publicly collecting all photographic materials capturing Suwon and its residents taken during the 1980s.
The museum is seeking photos taken by citizens themselves during the 1980s, including daily life, streets, events, and people. There are no format restrictions, accepting printed photos and albums, and digital file submissions are also accepted. Applicants can download the application form from the notice board on the Suwon Museum website and submit it online via Naver Form or in person.
The museum plans to use the collected photos to organize an exhibition created together with citizens.
"Photos from the 1980s vividly capture the lives of citizens living through waves of rapid change and moments symbolizing a turbulent era," a Suwon Museum official said. "It was a golden age of sports with the 1986 Asian Games and 1988 Olympics, and the people achieved democratization by resisting dictatorship."
