A group of young men in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, once organized a merchants' association to protect local businesses from regional gangsters. After endless conflicts, they too were labeled as gang members, blocking their future prospects. The protagonist, Hyun Tae-cheol, rallies the youth with the declaration: "If this is how it's going to be, let's go up to Seoul and become real big shots." The "Donghae-pa" faction they form in Seoul creates rifts among the capital's existing power structures.
This work serves as the narrative starting point of the "Min Universe," a series that includes "Tong," "Dokgo," and "Blood Rain." The hardboiled sensibility, explosive action, and strategic standoffs between factions unfold with tight pacing, allowing both longtime fans and new readers to quickly become immersed.
